Saluting the Volunteers at the UEFA EURO 2024 Final Draw in Hamburg
December 8, 2023The UEFA EURO 2024 Final Draw in Hamburg was a resounding success, thanks in large part to the efforts of approximately 120 dedicated volunteers. From November 27 to December 4, these individuals played a crucial role in various aspects of the event, with a significant presence at the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, Hamburg Airport, and local hotels. 10 different domains were active, ranging from accreditation all the way to event transportation.
The Draw Week was filled with memorable experiences for the volunteers. A unique highlight was the opportunity for all volunteers to step onto the Elbphilharmonie’s prestigious stage for a group photo, albeit in colorful Christmas socks to protect the stage. The week also featured engaging activities like betting games, public viewing of local football matches, and the U17 World Cup final.
The Volunteer Thank-You event marked the end of the week, where volunteers received certificates and gifts. Adding to the surprise, tournament ambassador Celia Sasic, tournament director Philipp Lahm, the EURO mascot Albärt, and the EURO trophy graced the event, making it a truly memorable occasion.
As we express our gratitude to these volunteers, let’s remember that applications for volunteering at the final tournament are open until December 15th. This offers an opportunity to be part of a global sporting event and to experience the joy and community spirit evident during the draw event in Hamburg.
